 Wolfpen Gap Sept. 19-21
« Thread Started on Aug 24, 2008, 7:34pm »

This is something I've been wanting to do, so we are just going
to go ahead and do it! I have no clue how many will be going,
but Me and Candy are for sure! At this point I'm not sure where
we will be staying either. I checked out MuddyTire.com they had:
"As of now however, the outlook for these other riding areas looks bleak.
On September 2008, all trails except for the Wolf Pen Gap park will be
closed down."

Anyone know??? I'm going to call the number they have listed and check it out...

If you want to go, or have any info, let me know!!!

Lots of good places to stay there, just depends on what you like, rough it in a tent or stay in an awesome cabin? If the cabin route stay at Camp Wolfcreek Springs, some may think it's a little pricey, but it is worth every penny! And if you do stay there tell them TheMuddyTire sent you. There should be lots of places to stay listed on our site (TheMuddyTire).

As far as the trails go, there is the main park Wolf Pen Gap, and then the outlaying trails. The main park has a lot of good riding, all maped out with skill dificulty ratings for each trail. (word of caution: when it says skilled riders, it means it, depending on which way you go up the hill may be harder) The outlaying trails are the best of any I have seen, but are slowly being closed. Last I heard Caney Creek and Shin Bone had been closed. Not to drive traffic from here, but the guys over at ATVNation, Arkansas Trail Voyagers section are the most knowledgable about the current state of the area.

At any rate I'm pretty sure you will have a blast riding the WPG area. Take lots of pics and let us know how it goes.

South of WPG has been dozed. Shinbone and tons of others are gone. Now they are slowly starting to close the northern half. right now we have a few good grown up roads and regular roads outside of WPG. BUT the forest floor is open until SIGNED AS CLOSED until march of next year. So that means no sign good to go. Also one thing to consider we will be having a atv rally there at WPG in October(10-12) it should be fun

March of next year, I must have missed out on a lot over at the Trail Voyagers, when did that happen? I'm really glad though, have to make some more trips before then. Thanks for the update.

no you didn't miss much on the trail voyagers site forum unless you enjoy pissing and moaning. lol

the ouachitas could not complete their mvum stuff in the time frame they pushed for so they pushed it back to march.
