The wife and I packed up my sp600 and my Magnum 325 (that my dad now has) and Drove 1500 miles (one way) to the Beautiful state of Utah.
Hurricane Utah was our final stop, however we spent a week stoping in Colorado and National parks through Utah.
2 1/2 yrs ago We had once drivin thru Utah on a round about drive to Montana and I had just purchased my sp600. I the first 25 miles on it in Utah at a staging area along the highway between Green river and Provo Utah.
Anyways I have been wanting to go back and do some serious riding. Well this winter in a ATV Mag (I can not remember which one) I read an article about the Aerrappean Jamboree in Ferron Utah (along the San Rafael swell) and that led me to the ATV UTAH site where they have every JAM listed for Utah. Well the TRI STATE JAM was a perfect time for me to take off, so we went.
We rode the San RaFael Swell on Monday and went Moab(but did not ride) and saw The Arches Monument Nat. park.
Tuesday we went to Zion Nat. park and did some Hiking
Wenesday went to Bryce Nat. park and Froze my arse off (26 degrees with a wind chill of -8, and snowing) and only took pictures.
Thursday went on the Looky Loo ride which had alot stops, A wash with Dinousar Tracks inbeded in the rock, Petroglyphs, Fort Pierce, and the Ice mine. The coolest place was the Ice mine. It is a old Quartz mine that was abanded early and left exposed. We picked up a dozen or so pieces to bring back.
The ride was shorter than we expected so after signing out with the guides we went to Sand Mountain for another 2hrs of great riding. That is where I got alot of the overlooking pics plus we rode on some sand dunes.
Friday, woke up to 6" of snow and it continued to snow through out the day up two 1-2ft in some areas. I went on the Seegmiller Mountain ride. I rode from the Motel 20miles to the staging area in the snow and cold then on a 60mile loop that went to the base of the Mountain but we did not have permission to go to the top which cut off 15 miles of our route.
Saturday, more snow and 20 degree weather. We drove Arizona for the Mail Drop Loop which was cold and short but the wife liked it. We did not have permission to go to the actual historic "Mail Drop" point But it was good none the less.
Sunday, foggy, snowy, ICEEEE, and difficult driving until we hit the Kansas border.
Met with lots of folks from the ATV UTAH .com site and had a blast, even the wife enjoyed it.
