Taken from my blog on Myspace....The Rebel Outlaws got there at 4 p.m. to get unloaded and to make sure everything worked. Janetta had a problem with one set of lights on her quad, so we quickly got them fixed.
We all decided to drive the quads over to Arby's and get something to eat. They were busy (of course being next door to the parade) and got in line. Finally, we got to order. I ordered my meal and flirted with the poor boy who was working the front counter. He had some issues
to say the least, but it was fun.
My mom and niece Lindsey ended up on the "Old Folks Van" with my Grandmother. My mom called while we were in Arby's and told us to come by and see them. Of course, she was the youngest chick in the bunch among 90 year old women. I had to get on the van and liven it up some. I asked if my Grandma caused any trouble at the retirement home. It was funny to watch them all shake their heads and laugh. I think I put some spirit into that van.
Finally, we were on the way back to Raymond and Heather's camper so we could eat our Arby's. On the way back, BOOM, my lights shut the hell off. I fried another inverter.
I have no idea what it is about the Grove Christmas Parade and MY inverters!! I ate my meal quick and made a mad dash to Wal-Mart across the street in Janetta's Durango to go get a new inverter. I had exactly 15 minutes.
I come back with my NEW inverter and get it put on to and line up. We were placed behind a local fire department and in front of a Bait Shop. On the Bait Shop float, there was a big hairy gorilla with a megaphone. It was yelling at everyone "Attention K Mart Shoppers...." to "Rebel Outlaws!!!" It sure was funny.
I even asked if I could spank the monkey and it yelled over the megaphone "You wanna do what to my monkey?" So I got up on the quad and made a spanking motion. It yelled "Take a number!" I said "I have money!" and it yelled back "Show me the money!"...so I flashed some cash and said I'd meet up after the parade...haha!!!
Finally, we were on our way out to the parade line. We were entry number 64 so it took a while to get out there. There was a lot of people bundled up on the side of the road who were making mad dashes for the candy that the fire department was tossing out in front of us. We had to be careful because of the kids looking for the candy and not run over them with the quads!
We were able to do some spins and circles when they weren't in the roads....
We were half way through the parade when some clowns were walking towards us. They were yelling "You're going the wrong way! The parade is going this way!" and pointing in the opposite direction.
Finally, I circled around my quad and was chasing one of the clowns. I made probably 6 circles around him. The crowd was going crazy laughing and pointing at us. Finally, he tagged me and I made a mad dash to catch back up to the parade and the rest of the Rebels who were laughing like crazy at me!
We ended up finishing the parade over by Pizza Hut. We pulled in to discover Raymond was having a clutch problem. Heather ended up pushing him all the way back to the Civic Center several blocks away.
We loaded up and came back to the house to have some fun. My friend Crystal came over and we played King's Cup. I about pissed myself laughing at the "Story Time" card talking about sex, truckers, animals, etc. Raymond brought a beer bong which was interesting and fun.
I ended up crashing in my bed at 2:30 a.m. and Crystal ended up staying on the couch for the night.
Another great weekend around my place...what could we possibly do next? Who knows....the next big party is the 28th at a friend's house. Wonder if they'll have any clowns or gorilla's there...or even that "special" Arby's boy....haha...........
