James Hale shared this area with me, so I thought I'd pass it along...
Big Red Off-Road Park has 160 acres with over 7 miles of well-marked trails (so far) going through creeks, canyons and forests. We have 3 ponds—the largest one is 2 ½ acres surrounded by trees. No one has been fishing there for a long time, so we don’t have quantities but if you’re feeling lucky or just like to fish, bring your pole and let us know how you do.
We offer different trails for all skill levels of motorcycles, ATVs, mountain bikes and BMX. Because of the unique terrain 80% of the trails are shaded. We have one canyon that is 40 feet wide with 25-foot sides and a creek running through it. The largest creek is 6 to 8 feet wide, also with 25-foot sides and almost always has water in it.
Admission Rates: $5.00 per person per day
We accept cash, checks, VISA or MasterCard.
Big Red Rules:
Everyone (riders and spectators) must sign a waiver consent form before entering the park.
Those under the age of 16 must have a waiver consent signed by a parent or legal guardian in the presence of a park staff member. The parent or guardian must closely supervise minors.
Anyone not signed in will be considered as trespassing and will be subject to arrest.
No glass containers are allowed at the park.
You must be packed and out of the park before dark (½ hour after sunset).
All off-road vehicle drivers and riders should follow the manufacturer’s safe operating procedures. Please be sure that your vehicle has the appropriate equipment needed to operate on the rough terrain in the park.
Vehicles must remain on designated trails, tracks or parking areas at all times.
All vehicles must operate in a manner to avoid incidents and/or accidents while in the park.
Be courteous of other drivers and Big Red staff on and off the trails.
Everyone rides at their own risk. Know your limitations and do not exceed the capabilities of your vehicle.
Failure to comply with the above rules and safe operating procedures can result in your being temporarily or permanently banned from using the park or participating in any future park activity or event.
The park is neither liable nor responsible for damage, loss or theft of personal property or injury to visitors.
Hours are 8 am to dusk almost every day except Thanksgiving and Christmas. If it is raining we are probably closed. Because of the different soils we usually open the next day after it rains. But always call before you haul!
ATVs, motorcycles, dune buggies, go-carts and bicycles are allowed. No 3-wheelers or 4x4 trucks are permitted. Although most of the trails are 49" wide there are plenty of open areas to handle most types of personal off-road vehicles. If in doubt, call us. We’ll be glad to answer any questions you may have.
