In the southern part of the state, Lake Murray State Park has become home to a new off-road park. On the north side of the lake, 1,000 acres of ATV riding trails and a new campground beckon motorcycle and ATV enthusiasts. The Pear Orchard riding area offers ten miles of marked trails for motorcycles and 3- and 4-wheel ATV's. The trails cross rolling hills through both forest and grassland and overlook beautiful Lake Murray. New comfort stations with restrooms and warm water pay showers have been added to the Pear Orchard area along with 15 full-service RV and primitive tent campsites. There is a $7.00 per rider per day fee.
Riders can enjoy the many amenities found at Lake Murray State Park including the 52-room lodge with a full-service restaurant, 81 park cabins and 468 RV and tent campsites in nine camping areas. Family activities at the park include miniature golf, riding stables, a swimming pool, video game rec room, tennis courts, frisbee golf course, indoor-outdoor covered fishing docks, kayaks, waterbikes, paddle boats, canoes, lake cruises, hiking, boat/jet ski/pontoon rentals, and the Tucker Tower Nature Center.

This is where we ride mostly. It is a very nice park and the campground is very nice as well.It is right on the lake.We ride and get dirty and muddy then drive into the lake and wash our 4-wheelers and swim to clean up and cool off then back on the trails.

Live in N. Texas and this is THE place to ride now for most in this area. Muenster, on the Red River, has always been the place to go, but more are going to Lake Murray now. We have taken our toyhauler up twice and ride right from our campsite into the riding area. Great family riding. Just big enough to get lost but you can find your way out easily. Amenitites are great, and Ardmore is about 7-8 mins. away.
