Bear Creek Trail is 31 miles long with four access points, one of which is at Daisy State Park. Some sections of this trail are fairly level and great for beginners, especially around the Bear Creek area. Other sections are rated as challenging because of rugged terrain and steep hillsides. The trail, which was cut through the forest and utilizes no logging roads, is very scenic, running near Lake Greeson's shoreline. It is mainly a motorcycle trail, though ATVs are allowed. The other three access points are also at campgrounds, offering a combination of camping and riding opportunities. The campsites range from primitive to Class A, which have electricity and bathrooms. There is no day-use fee for the trail. The cost to camp varies according to the campground.
Bear Creek Trail is located near Kirby, which is south of Hot Springs on U.S. 70. For more information, contact the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Lake Greeson field office at (870) 285-2151.
