Minnesota-based Polaris Industries Inc. said Wednesday it is recalling 18,500 Predator 500 all-terrain vehicles because of potentially faulty brakes.
The company said it has received reports of cracked and leaking front brake lines in at least 127 of the ATVs, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said, warning owners should stop using the vehicles immediately.
No injuries have been reported as a result of the defect.
Owners are advised to contact a Polaris dealer to arrange for repair of the ATVs, which were sold from November 2002 through February 2004 for approximately $6,000.
The recall includes "Predator 500" ATVs from model years 2003 and 2004 with model numbers: A03GJ50AA, A03GJ50AB, A03GJ50AS, A03GJ50CA, A04GJ50AA, A04GJ50AB, A04GJ50AC, and A04GJ50AD
