The mud holes at Fall/Lee Creek are GONE!!! The Forest Service dozed them all and made a parking lot!! On the east side of the low water bridge at Fall Creek the mud holes have all been filled in and made into a parking lot. They are adding a bathroom and making that the official trail head for the Buckhorn Trail System. On the West side you can still camp and the have cut in a new trail that loops back around to Old Cove City Rd. They are putting in 68 +/- miles of trails in the area. Of course that will be a long process. The trails that are new are pretty good and the trails that go back to the north and east of the mud holes are still there, but they say that they will be "closed" in the near future.

We always heard they were going to do this. We helped them clean up a few times around the new camping areas a few years ago...but we haven't been in much contact with them about the Buckhorn Trail System in a while. Glad to hear of the progress, but hate to hear the big mud holes are gone!!!
